Greasy hair

Want to stop having greasy hair?

Learn these tips and secrets to fight greasy hair! Greasy hair is one of the biggest problems for people, especially those with fine hair. While there are many products on the market that offer false promises to stop greasy hair, they don’t always work. Luckily, there are many natural and effective ways to control excess oil in your hair – learn how to avoid greasy hair and get healthy hair naturally!

Before we discuss our tips for trying not to have greasy hair, let’s review the reasons and consequences of having an oily scalp.

Genetics: Genetics can play an important role in the amount of oil your scalp produces. If someone in your family has oily hair, chances are you do too.

Hormones: Hormones can also affect the amount of oil your scalp produces. Hormonal changes, such as those that occur during puberty, pregnancy or the menopause, can increase oil production on the scalp.

Lifestyle: Lifestyle can also affect an oily scalp. Stress, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking and lack of sleep can increase oil production in your hair.

Consequences of greasy hair:

Excess greasy hair can lead to dandruff. Excess oil on the scalp can cause irritation, flaking and itching. These conditions can lead to inflammation of the scalp, which in turn contributes to the formation of dandruff. It is therefore important to keep your hair and scalp clean and free of excess oil.

If you have oily hair it is possible to lose hair. Excess oil in the hair can contribute to hair loss. Excess oil on the scalp can clog the holes in the follicular units, preventing the hair from receiving the nutrients it needs to grow. This contributes to hair loss. It is recommended to keep hair clean and free of oil to prevent hair loss.

There is no solution as such, but here are the following recommendations;

Tips to Combat Greasy Hair:

Wash your hair with cold water: Hot water can damage hair and increase oil production. Therefore, it is important to wash your hair with cold water to keep it healthy and oil-free.

Use a mild or neutral shampoo: Shampoo should be mild to avoid damaging the hair and over-stimulating oil production. Make sure the shampoo you use is free of harsh sulphates, parabens and silicones. You can treat your hair with an activated charcoal shampoo once to three times a week.

Do not use only anti-seborrhoeic shampoos as they remove excess oil but do not protect the scalp again. Wash your head with an anti-oily shampoo, leave it on for two or three minutes and rinse. Then wash your head with a pH-neutral shampoo to protect the scalp again.

Also, don’t blow-dry your hair too hot and too close to your hair.

Perform a product detox one day a week so that the scalp learns to regulate itself naturally.

Use hair products specifically for oily hair: There are products specially designed to treat oily hair. These products often contain ingredients such as beeswax, almond oil, shea butter or jojoba oil, which help control excess oil.

Eat a healthy diet: A healthy diet is essential to maintain healthy hair. Avoid eating processed and high-fat foods, and always opt for nutrient-rich foods such as fruits, vegetables, protein and healthy fats.

Use natural oils: Natural oils are a great way to combat greasy hair. Apply oils such as rosehip, jojoba or almond oil before shampooing to help control oil production.

Exfoliate the scalp: Exfoliating scrubs help remove oil build-up on the scalp and stimulate blood circulation. Exfoliating the scalp twice a week is recommended to keep hair healthy and oil-free.

Apply masks: Masks are a great way to nourish hair, especially those made with natural ingredients such as coconut oil, olive oil or aloe vera extract. Apply these masks once a week to keep hair healthy and grease-free.

Follow these tips and get healthy, oil-free hair the natural way!
